Project Background
A client constructing high-voltage transmission towers faced a critical challenge: the project site's rainy season made the ground impassable for heavy machinery. Soft, waterlogged soil posed serious safety risks and threatened to halt progress.
The Challenge
Standard temporary roads were impractical. The client needed a solution that could: 1) Support heavy crane and vehicle loads, 2) Be installed and removed quickly, and 3) Withstand prolonged exposure to wet conditions without degrading.
Our Solution
We supplied 1,500 units of our heavy-duty ground protection mats (4000mm x 2000mm) . Manufactured from high-strength Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE), these mats are engineered for extreme durability.
Implementation & Results
The mats were laid to create stable temporary access roads across the vulnerable terrain. Key outcomes:
Immediate Stability: The large 8m² mats distributed heavy loads effectively, preventing machinery from sinking or getting stuck.
Uninterrupted Operations: Construction continued safely through the rainy season, avoiding costly delays.
Reusable & Sustainable: After project completion, the mats were easily removed without damaging the underlying soil, ready for future projects.
By providing reliable access when it was needed most, our ground protection mats proved essential to keeping this critical energy infrastructure project on schedule.
